Excerpt

A couple hours later, when the sun stood high and bright in the sky, the sound of horseshoes came from the garden. Paul had dozed in the hay, enveloped by the soft jacket lining and lulled by happy bird songs and the rustling of leaves outside, but the commander’s return had him sit up against the wall.

A refreshing breeze rustled Alex’s hair as he reached the Hampton beach. He filled his lungs with salty air, his gaze sweeping the vast Atlantic and looking for spots on the horizon. No ships today, but endless, foam-topped waves of dark blue water rolling toward the shore in a deafening sound.

The more he thought of it, the clearer it became to him. What he essentially needed was a wife for a day, a bride for show to stop the fucking gossip. And once he’d proven to everybody he was a ‘normal’ guy and the guests had gone home, he could return to his nocturnal activities—only keeping them a little more secret from now on.

He unbuttoned his shirt and tied it around his waist. Flames of fire licked his skin, but he was used to being outdoors, and anyway, he didn’t intend to stay out very long. Just needed a breather.

At this hour, few people came to the beach. It was too hot. He scanned the perimeter and saw only a small kid running after a ball down the neighbor’s property.

Wait, wasn’t that…?

Yeah, he recognized the cap and the Superman shirt. And if that was Ivy’s kid, then she couldn’t be far. Alex’s heart jumped in his chest.

The little boy shouldn’t be out in the sun now, though, after having suffered from the heat earlier.

“Hey!” Alex waved.

He was too far away for the kid to hear him. He hurried over, and at the same time, Ivy appeared on the wooden walkway at the bottom of Fremont’s garden.

His breath caught. Her movements made the denim dress mold her svelte yet generously curved body. She may be wearing simple clothes, but they did a poor job of hiding the sexy treasures beneath. Blood rushed to his cock. Thank fuck his tied shirt covered it.

Strikingly beautiful without make-up, loose hair blowing in the breeze, she shook off her sandals and dipped her toes in the sand. At the sight of her son playing with the ball, she broke into a white-toothed smile and chuckled. She looked happy, instantly making Alex feel the same. He sizzled inside, his pulse beat faster. He had missed her so fucking much, and here she was back in his life!

When she turned and noticed him, her laugh faded to a dim smile. She recognized the guy in the limo earlier, not the one with whom she’d slept all night. He could tell from her discreet, polite reaction. It must be because he wore shades, and maybe his beard did its part in concealing his identity, too. If she knew he was her lover from four years ago, her gaze would tell.

He would never forget. Memories flashed in his mind. At the bar, he’d asked if there was any chance they could go somewhere, and she’d taken his hand with an alluring smile and led him to an empty dressing room. There, she’d done a strip show just for him in front of the vanity mirror, its white light bulbs giving the impression she was on stage. Then she’d undressed him, and they’d had wild sex in all kinds of positions, laughing and chatting and screwing over and over again. What a night!

“Hello,” she said, walking toward him.

His heart skipped a beat. “Hi.” Should he tell her who he was? How would she react if he did?

She stopped at a mere five feet away, but still showed no sign of recognition. Mind-boggling. “Thanks for helping out earlier. It was very kind of you.”

“Oh.” He lifted a hand to wave it off. “No worries. The kid looks better.”

“Danny? Yeah, thank God. We’ve had a great lunch, and now he’s playing again like nothing happened.”

“Glad to hear that. He shouldn’t be out too long in the sun, though.”

A frown, like she disliked being told right from wrong. “I know. We’re just checking out the beach. And I forgot my hat and sunglasses, so we’ll go right back”—she pointed over her shoulder—“in a minute. Do you have children?”

“No.” He’d love to have one, though. Kids were great fun, but as a notorious party animal, he wasn’t exactly laying the foundation for a family. He diverted the disturbing subject. “Are you settling well?”

She nodded. “Mr. Fremont’s a gentleman. He’s made sure everything was nice and ready for us in his gorgeous mansion. He’s having a nap, now, that’s why we’re—” She raised her hands, palms up, and tilted her face toward the sun. “Aw, I love it.”

And I love how sexy you look when you do this.

Like when she was coming with her cunt wrapped around his cock in the dressing room, moaning and arching her back, swollen tits pointed in the air.

Broken Trust

Blurb

Dan and Brad take a trip to New Orleans, hoping to rekindle the romance in their committed relationship, but Dan is captivated by a sexy bartender, named Paul.

Dan's mistake creates a deeper rift in his relationship with Brad, but Dan's not ready to give either man up. Maybe he doesn’t have to.

Does Paul know the secret to making all three of them happy?

Excerpt

Dan finished his drink. Time to leave. But suddenly the sexy bartender was on the wrong side of the bar, and Dan couldn’t move if his life depended on it. Paul leaned back and thrust out his hips showing off the imprint of a hard, swollen cock behind the denim. His black T-shirt was so tight, Dan could see the outline of nipple rings underneath. A dirty smile played across Paul’s face.

Dan breathed in Paul’s spicy exotic scent, a mix of cologne, testosterone and sweat, and a magnetic pull of sexual chemistry bound them together. The nose knows. An ache throbbed between Dan’s legs. He wanted Paul and damn the consequences. Paul returned the heated look. Or did he?

Maybe I’m imagining it. No. It’s real.

Dan tried to keep his calm as the bartender eye fucked the shit out of him. Paul’s lust was obvious and hot as hell. Dan’s libido went into overdrive. His cock ached with need and frustration. If Paul told him to strip right here he would probably do it.

BLURB:

One night of magic. That’s all they had together but it changed both their lives.

Multi-millionaire Oliver Maxwell, 51, despairs of ever finding the woman who stole his heart that night.

Renowned artist Simone St Ives, 46, also knows her life was forever altered by that one chance encounter.

Both doubt they’ll ever find their soul mate again. Because finding them seems impossible when all you know about the other is their first name?

 This is an erotic romance.

There are explicit sexual descriptions and explicit language used throughout. It will offend some readers.

STORY EXCERPT:

“What the fuck do you mean, you can’t find her?”

“I’m sorry, Mr. Maxwell, but with so little to go on…” The nondescript man facing Oliver shrugged his shoulders, his arms apart in a gesture of defeat. He looked hesitant as he added, “I mean we don’t even have a last name, and you told me you can’t even be sure she lives in this city.”

Oliver’s deep growl escaped his throat without warning then he sighed. He knew the private investigator was correct, but it didn’t sit easily with him. He had to let go of his anger.

He drew in several deep breaths then nodded. “I understand completely, and I’m sorry. I do know you’ve done your best.”

“If we just had something else.” The plaintive note in his voice wasn’t lost on Oliver. “Even a last name, a suburb, a place of employment. Anything.”

Hundreds of times each day, Oliver wished he had the same things as he replied, “Thanks. If I discover any of those you’ll be the first to know.”

Both rose and shook hands, with the PI scuttling as fast as he could from the office. Yep, he’s glad to leave. Oliver sank back onto his chair, laying his head on his hands. He’d tried everything he could think of during the past three weeks to find his mystery woman to no avail. He had to face facts—she was gone.

I need you, where are you?

One night, that’s all they had, just one night. But it would be burnt into his memory forever. No other woman would, or could, ever come close to her. His life had been forever changed by one chance encounter. Oliver’s mind went back to that night, as it had done so often in the last three weeks.

He still couldn’t remember why he’d gone down in the elevator … probably something to do with the charity auction he’d been involved in. When the doors opened on the ground floor, a vision in cream entered the carriage. Oliver couldn’t move, he just stared at her. She looked over at him, her vivid green eyes widened, and he felt a jolt somewhere around his heart. She pressed a button.

Her melodic voice sent shivers down his spine as she asked, “What floor?”

“Wherever you’re going.”

Her mouth had opened slightly as she continued staring at him, taking one step toward him as if pulled by a huge magnet. It was as though they were the only two people left in the world. The doors began to close and Oliver quickly pushed forty as he stepped closer to her, his arm brushed against hers and she gasped. They both just stood there, so close to each other, staring into each other’s eyes. The elevator stopped and its doors began to open on the twentieth floor. She ignored the beckoning hallway and stayed looking at him. Upward they rode until they heard—ding, the fortieth floor.

To this day Oliver had no idea why he did it, nor why on earth she accepted, but he held out his hand and stood in the open elevator doorway. She looked at his upturned hand, then back to his face and with a smile that could have sunk a thousand ships, she put her hand in his. They walked in silence down the corridor.

Somehow he managed to pull his key-card from his pocket, then open the door to his hotel suite. He kicked it shut as they entered and the next second they were in each other’s arms. Her kisses were as frantic as his. They both tore at each other’s clothes until finally both were naked.

Justice followed Pete inside his stateroom and banged the door shut. Loud noise: generated for reasons of temperamental satisfaction. She stood rigidly in place, lungs working hard. Beyond words. If the appearance of her eyeballs was anything like her vision, they probably looked like they’d been dunked in Red Dye Number Forty.

A man who knew what restraint actually was would’ve handled a woman in her condition—like a stick of dynamite on the tail end of its fuse—in a conciliatory fashion.

Maybe, All right now, what’s wrong?

Or, Come on, let’s work this out.

But no.

First thing out of Pete Robbins’s mouth was a Scottish accent. “She cannae take any more, Captain. She’s gonna blow!”

Astounded. Then murderous. Many more things, but Justice’s brain was actually spluttering. Robbins was mimicking Scotty from Star Trek. “You’re going to make a joke out of this?”

He shrugged. “Until I know what’s wrong, sure.”

According to the pressure in her ear canals, she was currently standing eight leagues under the sea. “What’s wrong,” she gritted back, “is that you’re dangerous.”

He perked up. “Oh, we’re doing Top Gun now? Cool.” He rolled into mimicking Maverick. “That’s right, Ice…Man. I am dangerous.” He gestured at her face. “Now you bite your teeth at me.”

She totally lost it.

Grabbing the collar of his flight suit in both fists, she slammed him back against the bulkhead. The metal wall rattled as if all the rivets were coming loose—she’d gained an unrealized amount of strength over the past months at BUD/S.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

What book are you going to tell us about today?

Molly’s Affaire de Coeur…it’s a menage story that takes place in France. It had been previously published under a different title, but I took back the rights to make it better. I’ve grown as a writer, so I was glad to have the chance to rework some of the parts.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?

I lived in Paris for 4 months and explored the city every day. It was the adventure of a lifetime. I used all that experience to write Molly’s AdC. That’s why, in some scenes, it’s a lot of detailed exposition.

How much real life do you put into or influences in this book?

A lot. Even down to the guy in the shower that Molly watches. When I moved into my apartment in Paris, the living room window looked down into my downstairs neighbor’s bathroom. I accidentally witnessed him showering one night, and that sparked an idea which eventually led to this story.

If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend they start with and why?

I would say it depends on the genre you wish to read, because I’ve got a foot in a lot of them. Some of my favorites are Dreamland, When Lightening Strikes, Invincible…this one. Really, everyone should check out my bookography (I just made that word up).

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.

I used to work for a film and tv editing company, who used to do the nomination packages for the Emmy’s and Oscars. I was able to attend the Emmy’s one year, wearing a beautiful dress and walking the red carpet. I got to see a lot of stars, including Jack Lemmon before he died. It was a fun time in my life, going to a few “Hollywood” parties and meeting celebrities. I’m glad I had the experience.

SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS:

I began reading my mom’s Harlequin Presents in the fifth grade, and from the first story I knew I wanted to write romance novels. I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate highrollers.  I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box.  I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love. Harper pointed and brushed her long, dark hair off her shoulder.

A slender woman, eyes open and sightless, lay on her back beneath an owl box. A pool of blood had formed around her head in the soft earth. Beside her, a chihuahua barked at us hysterically.

Bile rose in my throat. I pressed the back of my hand to my mouth. I thought I’d been prepared. But nothing can really prepare you for sudden death.

“Do you think she tripped and fell?” Harper said, pointing to the rock half-hidden beneath Bernadette’s spill of hair.

“Maybe,” I croaked, my mouth dry. Bruises darkened the skin above the collar of her cocktail dress, and there was a reddish mark on her face. They didn’t look like they’d come from a fall. “Did you call the police?”

“Of course I did. They’ll be here any minute. I just…” She pressed her hands to her stomach. “It’s Bernadette, one of Adele’s oldest friends, her bridesmaid.”

Lead weighted my gut. This was awful. Worse than awful. How were we going to tell Adele?

Reel to Reel: Movie Mistakes from Hollywood's Favorite Films by Isla Grey #NonFiction #Giveaway @GoddessFish

Lights, Camera, Action! From the very beginning, the world of cinema has captivated us. We have found ourselves laughing at our favorite comedies, crying when love finally comes to fruition, being beamed to other worlds or battling in the midst of action sequences. While movies might be the perfect entertainment, most have slight imperfections, mistakes, which go unseen, until they’re released and caught by the movie audience. These mistakes don’t detract from the film, and finding them are just as fun as watching the movie. For the past several years, Isla Grey has written a “Movie Mistakes” column for Bellaonline. “Reel to Reel” is a collection of some of those columns, spotlighting the fun goofs found in some of our favorite movies. Can you spot them? Grab the popcorn, sit back, and happy movie watching!

The Notebook

There’s no question--Noah and Allie are in love. Set in two different time periods, the beginning of the pair’s relationship is shown via a notebook an older Noah reads to Allie who is suffering the effects of dementia. Can true love ever be forgotten? Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Notebook”.

Near the beginning of the movie, the younger Allie and Noah are at a carnival. After their first encounter, Allie and another man get on the Ferris wheel. The man is holding cotton candy in his right hand. This is noticeable throughout the scene. After Noah has climbed aboard and gets Allie to go out with him, the cotton candy the man was holding is now gone.

After Noah and Allie have watched the movie in the theater, they decide to go for a walk. When they get to the traffic light, Noah tells her how he used to lie in the road and demonstrates for her. At first, Noah is closer to the center of the lane to his left. (This is noticeable in the overhead view.) During the close-up, Noah is now closer to the double lines that run down the middle of the road. This happens again when Allie joins him. At first, they are closer to the center of the lane to their left, but the next view shows them near the double lines.

About the Author
Isla Grey is from Central Virginia and at an early age developed a love of movies. Working as Bellaonline’s Movie Mistakes editor since 2012 has given Isla the opportunity to indulge in two of her passions—movies and writing.

When Isla isn’t writing or watching movies, most of her time is spent with her ever active daughter and her band of cats. She also enjoys good music, reading biographies and ghost stories and taking quiet strolls.

The Cinderella Coyotes of State University are in the Final Four, poised to win the NCAA National Championship in basketball—the culmination of March Madness. For Marla Conners, she's proud of her husband Neal, and his achievement of coaching a collegiate team to the pinnacle of his career and the ultimate victory for his team. Yet, Marla's idyllic life is about to be viciously attacked and torn apart by a different madness—her husband's reputation ruined, a university disgraced, and she finds herself on trial accused of first-degree murder.

The Coach’s Wife is rife with spine-tingling suspense, conspiracy, deceit, and murder, sizzling and seductive passion, right down to the last second buzzer-beating heroics. This is also a candid and vivid behind-the-scenes portrait of Division One college basketball, university politics, money and corruption, and all the lives that are blessed and ruined by it all.

Ray Knox pulled the collar on his coat up tighter around his neck and ears and shoved his hands deep into his pockets. He cursed under his breath when he saw a group of drunks, probably Seawolf fans, coming his way. It was too dark to see who they were, but if they were Seawolfers, he was sure they would recognize him if they saw him. And even if they were blind drunk, they would wonder what in the hell he was doing hanging out in a service entrance doorway of the coliseum at three o’clock in the morning. Christ. That was all he needed. He pushed his back against the cold metal door as far as he could hoping he wouldn’t be seen. The five men burst into an off-key rendition of the Piedmont State Fight Song and staggered past the doorway, oblivious of the cold and of him. One of the men tossed an empty beer can onto the pavement, creating even more racket. Knox listened to it roll several yards until it finally stopped and then heard the pop and hissing sound of another can being opened.

Christ it was cold. A blast of frigid air whistled around the door frame. He cursed again. At Morgan for getting him into this situation and at himself for doing it. This had to be the low point in Knox’s career. Hanging out in darkened doorways in the middle of the night waiting to make a pay-off. To make it even worse, the guy he was supposed to meet was late. He had told Knox 2:30. Unless Knox got the directions mixed up. But the guy had said the service entrance on the east side of the coliseum. And that’s where the hell he was. Freezing his ass off and dodging drunken Seawolf fans so he wouldn’t be seen.

Knox pulled out a wadded up handkerchief from his hip pocket and wiped his nose. He was probably getting sick. Morgan was going to make up for this big time if he expected Knox to keep doing his dirty work for him. No more cheap presents or token salary increases. Shit, he had enough TVs and cameras and electronic gadgets. Cheap toys from Morgan. He wanted some big money—security for when he decided to retire. And the way he was feeling now, he was ready to retire.

Knox heard footsteps, the empty beer can being kicked, and someone—a man—cuss. Knox leaned out slightly from the doorway and peered into the darkness. He smelled him—the rancid odor of nervous sweat—before he saw him.

“You got something for me, heh?”

Excerpt Three:

Parental mirroring and its lifelong affects… The point of view from where I approach this topic alternates between that of a parent and that of a child. Please note, every parent has been a child and still carries that child within. And every child has the potential to become a parent or an educator and pass along what they learned when they grew up. If you don’t have children or don’t plan on becoming a parent, considering both viewpoints will give you insight into your own childhood conclusions and the potential reasons behind them.

Whether or not a child develops healthy motivation depends on the way parents relate to their child. Do they really see their child as being his/her own unique individual instead of as an extension of themselves? During childhood, a constellation is put in place that determines susceptibility to insomnia later in life.

Why do some children end up automatically with a healthy sense of self while others don’t? Unless you make a conscious decision to do things differently, parents/caregivers tend to mirror their children the way their parents mirrored them. The way a parent mirrors their child is influenced by their A parent’s own childhood experiences greatly influences the way they mirror their child; unfinished business can be passed down from generation to generation. On your quest to solve your sleeping problem, gaining insight into the messages, you received about yourself at an early age can be quite revealing.
