Release Blitz:The Mammoth Book of Lesbian Erotic Stories

The Mammoth Book of Lesbian Erotic Stories, edited by Barbara Cardy

Seriously hot lesbian erotica from the top writers in the field – Olivia London, Lynn Lake, Catherine Lundoff, Eva Hore, Kannan Feng and Lucy Felthouse to name just a few. There are no fewer than 42 superbly-written stories in this bumper collection.

• Chloe wasn’t the least bit worried about her job performance evaluation – sure, she was the bottom performer in terms of sales, but as she put it, ‘What a spankingly fine bottom it is!’

• Wanting to get away from sexual temptation Natalie takes a job teaching exercise in a health hydro but fellow instructor Jade introduces her to some delicious extra-curricular activity . . .

• While Little Lucy was licking her out in their shared cell, one of the top dogs was planning her fight with the Dragon Lady, but losing would mean a total humiliation in front of all the prison’s bottom feeders.

• Tanya’s a shy girl, but her girlfriend knows exactly what shy girls need and she’s willing to use some very unfair tactics to get her way.

• Emma was no stranger to BDSM, but being kidnapped by an unknown number of strangers was too much.

• Rose is the perfect desperate housewife – rich, pampered and bored! She’s given a thrill when a young sales assistant does more than measure her inner thigh – she spreads them wide.

• Amanda is a prim and proper librarian who fills her days stacking books and her evenings playing with herself under her desk.

• Little Kaylee seeks an older woman’s advice about her recent love troubles, but the sensitive talk session soon becomes a show and tell.

Excerpt:

Adele peered out of her front window. Yes, there they were again. Donna and Josie, linking arms and chatting away. Just a few short weeks ago, Adele would have been part of that conversation. But now, inexplicably, it seemed she was no longer in the inner circle. The two women had scaled back their invites for afternoon tea, their book club meetings weren’t so frequent and Adele felt as though she was being deliberately excluded. And she had no idea why. There’d been no falling out, no cross words, nothing.

Adele decided she wasn’t going to take it any more. If she was going to be ignored and left out, she at least wanted to know why.

Watching the pair head into Josie’s house across the street without so much as a glance in the direction of her house, Adele drew away from the window.
Hurrying, so as to not lose her nerve, Adele slipped on her sandals, left the house and pulled the front door shut behind her. She walked across the quiet street. It was a cul-de-sac, so there was no thru-traffic; and, it being the middle of the day, most people were at work, including the husbands of herself and the other two women. The lack of other company during the day was what had originally brought the three women together, but now it seemed Adele was surplus to requirements. Blinking back angry tears, Adele stomped across to Josie’s house, ready for a confrontation.

Once she got closer, however, she noticed something amiss. Despite the time of day, the living room blinds were closed. The sun wasn’t even at this side of the house yet, so that wasn’t the reason. Intrigued, Adele crept closer. Lots of wild thoughts began to run through her head. They were obviously up to something they wanted to keep secret. But what? Extra-marital activity? Criminal activity? Or worse?

Determined to get answers, Adele walked right up to the window. The ladies obviously hadn’t been too careful when they’d drawn the blinds. One of the slats had caught on something on the window sill and it wasn’t quite flush to the others, creating a gap. A gap perfect for peering through. Begging to be peered through.

Never one to pass up an opportunity, Adele gingerly peeked through the hole, half expecting one of the girls to be looking back, glaring angrily at the intrusion. She needn’t have worried. There was nobody there. Not right by the window, anyway. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room, Adele could make out shapes moving in the room, over by the sofa.

On the sofa, she realised, as her brain caught up with what her eyes were seeing. There were two people on the couch, and they were…

Release Blitz: Coming, Ready or Not!

Coming, Ready or Not! Release Blitz

Blurb:

Meet Will and Abby. An ordinary couple that you wouldn’t give a second glance at if they were walking down the street. Except they share a wonderful secret and bond as they explore their Master/slave relationship.

This is a loving couple, full of good humour, but nothing in any relationship is perfect and sometimes things go wrong. Even the strongest will in the world can't always obey and with that comes consequences...

Three vignettes, The Edge, Bad Girl, and Breathless focus on control. Can Abby be taken to the edge of pleasure and not cross over? She wants to obey and to hold on. But can she? And what will happen to her if she can't?
Holding on has never felt so good...

Excerpt:

“Will, please.”

“Excuse me? I think you mean 'Sir,' and do you really think this is up to you?”

“Er, no, Sir. I guess not. I'm sorry.”

“I should think so. Now lie back. Go on.”

I lie back against the chair. I don’t have another choice anyway. My legs are spread wide apart and strapped tightly to the chair legs, so I couldn't close them if I wanted to, and my arms are tied behind my back and then secured to the back of the chair frame. I'm really not going anywhere until my Lord and Master lets me.

You grin at me, knowing full well that there's nothing I can do.

I narrow my eyes. “You evil b...”

You grab my chin and force me to look into your eyes.

“I really don't think you want to finish that sentence, Abby. I wouldn't advise it.”

You continue circling my clit with just the tip of your finger, as you have been doing, agonisingly slowly, for the last few minutes. I moan and throw my head back.

“Oh, please, Sir. Please may I come?"

You pretend to consider my request, as if you haven’t already made up your mind. "Hmmmm, no. No, I don't think so.” You run your other hand over my breasts, pausing to tweak first one nipple and then the other.

“You need to learn that this body does not belong to you any more. It belongs to me and it's up to me if you get any pleasure and up to me when and how. Understand?"

“Ye...he...Yes, Sir”, I pant, trying desperately to hold on.

“Good girl.” You grin evilly again. “Besides I'm nowhere near done teasing you yet. I’m having far too much fun enjoying that lovely tortured expression on your face.”

I let out another low moan, borne of frustration and desire; at the same time feeling a tingling warmth and excitement in my stomach at your dominance over me.

Your touch builds me dangerously close to orgasm again, leaving me hovering right there on the edge. I try to think of something else, anything else. What are we having for dinner? What shall I make? Are we out of peas? Or perhaps His Domliness will decide he wants to go out when he has finished working up an appetite by torturing me!

The thought brings me right back into the room, back to the sensation of your fingers sliding in and out of me, your thumb lightly rubbing my clit ever closer, ever nearer. I buck in my seat, half torn between wanting to push myself forward against your thumb, wanting release so badly, and not wanting to let you down by coming without permission.

“Sirrrr,” I groan.

“Yes, Abby. What can I do for you? Do you want me to stop? Good idea!”

You remove your hand from my pussy and I let out an animal yelp of frustration. Oh God. This is the third time you have brought me to the brink of orgasm and I really don't know how much more I can stand.

Meet Author Tasha Blackstone *Echo in the Night*

I'm excited to welcome author Tasha Blackstone today. Tasha is talking about her journey as a writer and she's sharing excerpts from her new release - Echo in the Night. Enjoy!

~~~~~~
Life surprises me at every turn
Thank you so very much Gale for having me today!
I am a fairly new author, my first book came out with Siren Publishing in January, and Echo in the Night is my third release for the year. I am in awe of authors who are able to produce a new book every other week and hope that with time (& of course a ton of hard work) I can turn my back on my EDJ and focus solely on my writing career. When I can be in a place to produce at least one new book a month, I will be thrilled! J
In the meantime, I plug along, trip and stumble my way through finding what works best for me, and hopefully, learn from my mistakes. One of the biggest issues I am facing has less to do with the writing/publishing process than with the personal side of it. I am so proud of myself for finally reaching a lifelong goal, and although I imagine in a few years when I look back at my first book, I may cringe and giggle at the silly mistakes I made, I will always feel accomplished that I set out to do something great and did it. I’m so excited about it that I want to stand on the rooftops and yell to the world “Look what I did! How cool is this?” However, I find myself living a double life. By day, I am a devoted wife, mom, full time college student, and full time server/bartender. By night, or whenever I have a free moment, I am a published author (still devoted wife and mom of course, but my job title changes). Two very different people yet I wonder, and often wish, that I could just be one person. Whenever my family asks me what I’ve been up to I have to stop and remember whose asking before I start spouting off details of my latest release. I made an executive decision on the fly recently. One of my mother-in-laws and I were discussing how busy life is, and the next thing I know, the dam broke and I told her. I was shocked by her reaction. She was happy for me and so excited that she actually went on line and bought print copies of my first two books! Holy crap! My mother-in-law is now a fan. Who would’ve guessed? So perhaps, as time goes on, and I get over the concern of how some people may judge me, I’ll step out from behind the curtain and all will be revealed.
Blurb:
Can a Witch who was born to be a Vampire Hunter find true love with her mortal enemy?
It’s easy to live life on auto pilot and that’s just what Echo Abbott is doing. That is until everything shifts. As her house of cards begins to crumble, she meets Henry Knight. Obnoxious and gorgeous she can’t stop thinking about him and against her better judgment she wonders if he is the key to healing her broken heart.
In this dark, seductive tale set in the heart of Oregon, Echo is a Witch with remarkable powers whose gift is sought after by a power hungry Vampire, Corrine. Corrine’s brother, Henry, is a willing pawn in her fight for the ultimate power and has been tracking Echo for years. Seeking out Echo’s weakness he soon finds his desire for her is more than he can control. He wants Echo all to himself, but can he convince her that he isn’t the enemy before it’s too late or will her stubborn nature be her downfall?
Story Excerpt:
“Oh my God! I’m so sorry!” A large man with muscled arms and strong hands lifted her effortlessly from the glass battlefield. “I didn’t mean to scare you! Are you okay?”
Suddenly more pissed than scared, Echo wriggled and screamed in his embrace, trying with all of her might to break free from his hold. “Put me down!”
Gingerly and on command, he did, but as her foot found the deck, she pushed a shard of glass deeper into her heel and cried out again, “Pick me up! Pick me up! Take me inside!”
The stranger quickly swooped her up back into his arms and with rapid procession, carried her into the house and set her down onto the kitchen counter. Without a word he grabbed a towel from the oven bar, soaked it in warm water and tended to her foot, pulling out the largest shard of glass that had impaled her. She screamed and kicked at him as the pain pulsed through her and as he dropped the sharp triangle on the counter beside her, Echo could feel the familiar sensation of warm blood dripping down her foot. With an eerie swiftness, the man backed as far away from Echo as he could without stepping back outside.
“That’s–that’s a lot of blood.”
His face was ashen and there was a quiver to his voice that oddly enough set Echo at ease. He was tall and muscular with broad shoulders and a chiseled chest, easily defined even through the fabric of his gray button-up shirt. His hair was raven black and clean cut and he had the hint of a five o’clock shadow on his face. His thick eyebrows were arched in alert and his crystal-blue eyes had locked onto the droplets of blood that fell to the tiled floor. He was a beautiful mess.
“Who are you and what the fuck are you doing here?”
He did not pull his eyes from the blood when he answered. “I’m Henry. I’m here to buy your house.”
“You have got to be kidding me! Henry?” Rage pulsed through her. “As in Henry Knight the douche bag stalker who refuses to take no for answer and just leave me alone? That Henry Knight?”
He finally looked up into her eyes, a hint of a smile etched along his full lips.
“Well”—he laughed—“Most women don’t refer to me as a douche bag, but yes, I suppose I am that Henry.”
Adult Excerpt:
“Head down, love, and spread your legs for me—I want to see how wet you are.”
She obliged, pressing her head deep in the overstuffed comforter and spreading her legs wide. She could feel Henry hovering over her pussy as he took a deep breath and inhaled her arousal before she felt his tongue trail along the length of her pussy lips. She moaned into the bed and wiggled her ass at him, eager for him to take her fully into his mouth. His hands spread her cheeks apart and his tongue teasingly trailed along her slit again.
“Tell me what you want, love.”
“I want you,” she moaned.
He gripped her cheeks tighter and she heard an animallike growl rumble from his gut.
“Yes—and?”
“I want you, Henry! I want you to devour my pussy and make me come!”
“Good girl.” His mouth was suddenly pressed firmly to her, caressing his lips
around her pussy lips, tongue pushing deep into her body.
She cried out into the blanket and bucked her hips, pushing against him, eager to feel him as deep as he could be. His tongue wiggled around, licking around in circles, flicking in and out. He dragged it up her slick fold, lapping at her leaking juices as he pushed her hips forward revealing her hidden clit. Her nub pulsed and tingled in wait, and when his tongue teased the tip, she cried out louder, her need controlling her vocals. He continued to flick across her clit, building up her orgasm to the point that she could barely control it. When he sucked the sensitive nub in between his lips, she was done. Her hips seized as the walls of her pussy clenched in response to the ache and pleasure that now flooded her body. As he sucked hard on her clit, draining her of every electrifying surge, her juices flowed down her slit, drenching her. Her body relaxed and Henry continued to dine on her, lapping at her nectar, licking and sucking at her lips, drinking in every last drop that her body released. When her pussy was spent, he flipped her onto her back. His lips glistened with her juices and he dragged his tongue, cleaning up the last bit that had been smeared over his mouth, as he unzipped his trousers and let them fall to the floor, revealing his dick pushing hard against the fabric of his boxer briefs.
Nervous excitement filled her as her eyes fell to his cock. Even hidden he was huge.
His fingers slid between the band and his waist and he slid the boxer briefs down over his hips, his dick springing to life, pre-cum glistening at the slit.
“Oh my gawd,” she whispered.
He looked to be a generous eight or nine inches with impressive girth, veins etched along the shaft, skin pulled tight like satin over steel, his mushroomed head purple with need.
“I’ll be gentle,” he promised.
Spotlighting: Rob and Lou's Wild Weekends @victoriablisse #Excerpt
Introduction to Rob and Lou.
Robert Nimble is thirty-five years old, he’s tech support for a large Internet host, and loves to play computer games to relax. He’s married to Louise Nimble, who’s a child minder, and a year younger than her husband. She bakes to unwind. Taking the old adage that stressed is desserts spelt backwards to heart.
Robert and Louise are more often known by the shortenings of their names—Rob and Lou. They’ve been married for ten years and have two children: Connor, who is six, and Elizabeth, who’s four.  They live in a terraced house in a suburban outskirt of Manchester. As a family, they enjoy their yearly week-long holiday to Scarborough, and visits to the cinema to watch films that the kids and adults giggle at in equal measure.  In the school holidays, they’ll often be found in museums and parks, enjoying the culture and the beauty of Britain.
They’re a smiley family, although Rob can get grumpy when his tech genius isn’t taken seriously enough, and Lou may have the patience of a saint with children, but more than two hours with her in-laws has her pulling out her hair. The children are mostly well-behaved, with an inclination to the curious, and the mischief that goes hand in hand with that. If they do run into the back of your legs, or scare you with their latest pet insect, they will apologise politely and you’re likely to instantly forgive them.
This book is not about the day-to-day life of this family, but those weekends and rare occasions that Lou and Rob get some time to themselves to indulge their sensual natures. Rob enjoys seeing his darling wife in very little clothing, and likes to indulge in intricate and imaginative role plays. Lou enjoys a bit of spanking, some domination, and bondage. She wouldn’t say she was into BDSM, per se; she just likes to dip a toe in the shallow end of that particularly pervy pond.  They both like to flirt with erotic danger, playing about in public places in hopes of possibly being caught.
Rob and Lou’s Wild Weekends are just that, so hold on and enjoy the ride.
Rob and Lou’s Wild Weekends.
Blurb:
Hold on tight, it’s going to get wild! Rob and Lou could pass you in the streets and you’d likely not notice them. They’re in their thirties, have a family and jobs to hold down and they do it with smiles on their faces. But occasionally they get a little time off and that’s when things get seriously sexy.
Light-hearted and fun, this mini-anthology features episodes from this couple’s wild weekends. Making the most of the mud, finding the erotic nature of an apron and even having a sexy visit to a fish and chip shop. Rob and Lou make the mundane much more pleasurable so join them on their kinky ride.
Includes a bonus short story Damsel in Distress and excerpts from other ebooks by the award winning queen of rosy, raunchy and rubenesque erotic romance, Victoria Blisse.
Hot Excerpt
Rob and Lou’s Domestic Discipline
It was only a small parcel in a typical brown padded envelope. It wasn’t expected, which is why I spent so long looking it over. The return address didn’t ring a bell, and I really couldn’t imagine what it could be so, finally, I opened it. I grinned to myself as I did. My husband Rob would have laughed at me, spending so long looking at the wrapping and wondering. He doesn’t get why I like to eke out the anticipation in moments like this.
Inside was a square of white with a lacy frill all around it. When I opened it up, I found ties –it was a pinny. Inside the parcel was a sealed envelope. I opened it to find a card covered in small red love hearts.
Wear this tonight and only this xxx
PS Kids are going to my mum’s for tea tonight, so don’t worry.
 I recognised my husband’s handwriting immediately and chuckled when I remembered a conversation we’d held in a restaurant once about pinnies and their attractiveness. Well, Rob had been staring at this red-headed waitress (he loves auburn hair) with cute curves and pouty lips, and I had to pull him up on it.
“No, Lou, No.” He shook his head. “I am helplessly addicted to pinnies. I can’t help it.”
“Pinnies?” I lifted one brow and pinched his thigh under the table. “You’re turned on by tiny little aprons?”
“Yes.” He nodded solemnly.  “It’s a terrible affliction.”
“What’s your favourite kind?”
“White ones with lacy bits,” he replied, licking his lips salaciously.
That night, I whispered dirty sweet nothings in his ear while we fucked in the comfort of our hotel room bed. I told a story where I was a simple girl, waiting on tables in a quaint old tea shop, wearing a little lacy pinny. I giggled. He chuckled, but as my tale got hotter, the noises we made became strangled and lust-filled.
“You watch me until the end of my shift,” I whispered, hunched over him, my soft thighs stretched around his waist as his hard erection filled me. I moved gently up and down and continued the tale. “Then follow me outside into the alley. Before I can cry out, you clamp your hand over my mouth and push me roughly against the wall. I struggle helplessly but you hold me down and whisper about knowing I want it. How I’d teased you and how I would get what I’d been asking for.”
I still remember how he gripped my hips tightly when I rode him. I continued my story through groans of pleasure.
“You spin me around, press me into the harsh brick of the wall, and pull up my skirt. Grabbing hold of my prim pinny, you fuck me. I’m soaking wet, so you slide right in. You fuck me there in an alley, the girl you just met, the girl you hardly know.”
My words turned into unintelligible mumblings at the point where ecstasy took over. And ever since our holiday, with the visit to that restaurant and the evening’s tale of indecency in an apron, we’ve found a mutual fondness for the uniform of waiting staff and hotel workers alike. So, if Rob wanted me naked in nothing but a pinny for Valentine’s, that’s what he could have.
Author Interview: Pixie Storm - Seducing The Vampire's Pet
Today I'm shining the spotlight on author Pixie Storm. Pixie is sharing an except from her new release, Seducing the Vampire's Pet. But first I have a few questions...
Hi Pixie! Thanks for taking the hot seat today. Have you written a book you love that you have not been able to get published?
Hi, everyone. I wrote a full length historical romance novel over ten years ago. At the time I failed to find an agent for it in order to approach a mainstream publisher. It still sits on my bookshelf in the envelope I sent it away in gathering dust.
Can you tell us about your upcoming book?
The Vampires in Love series was one I conceived in order to explore recurring characters at different points in their history. There’s such scope for vampires in that you can tell their story in different centuries and still hold the thread together. The big bad villain, Emil, came to life first. He’s older than time and no one knows where he came from. He’s an important, common theme that links all the books. After fleshing out my other characters, I looked at who would be the focus of the first book and how I could set up a secondary character who would then become the focus of the second book. As I write this, the second book is done and I know which character from that story will be the focus of the third book. All the characters are linked and most characters will appear in all books in the series unless I’ve killed them and even then they might still appear!
What project are you working on now?
I am about to start work on book 3 in the series. I also have plans to start a contemporary romance shortly set in Alaska.
Where do you get your ideas?
I get them from films, TV programmes, music and real life. I get crazy ideas from watching documentaries on TV and thinking, hmm, I could use this idea but have it as two men falling in love. I also get ideas for settings when I travel and usually end up basing a story on somewhere I’ve been.
Do you ever experience writer’s block?
All the time. My current writer’s block began last August and I’m still waiting for it to fully lift.
Excerpt:
Severin felt light-headed as they went back into the ballroom. He had had only a few sips of blood that day and it wasn’t the best idea to face Emil and his new pet on an empty stomach. His guts churned as he followed Istvan. Oh God, how had Nikolaus become involved with Emil? Was he a consenting participant in whatever Emil was doing to him?
Emil had come down off his dais. He was walking among his guests, leading his pet behind him on the chain. As they cut a path through interested onlookers, vampires mauled and pawed at Nikolaus. They touched his cheek and stroked his neck. They cupped his firm little buttocks and fondled him between his legs.
Severin snarled and darted forward. Istvan held him back with every ounce of his strength, pressing him to the wall out of view. “No,” he said.
“I’ll kill them, I’ll kill them all.”
“No you won’t, because Emil will kill you. I won’t allow you to risk your life for a human you knew ten years ago.”
Istvan’s words were cruel but what claim did Severin have anyway? What was it to him how many vampires wanted to touch and possess Nikolaus? He had never belonged to Severin and certainly didn’t now. Severin guessed Nikolaus didn’t even remember him. He swallowed, lifted his head, retracted his fangs, and indicated it was all right for Istvan to let him go.
Istvan took him by the arm. “We say hello, you drink another cup of that fine blood you wasted earlier, and then we go to our chambers before dawn comes. All right?”
Severin nodded tightly. He walked woodenly forward as Istvan weaved between vampires and Emil’s human waiting staff. He kept his head down, not wanting to set eyes on Nikolaus until the last possible moment.
Soon enough they reached Emil.
“If it isn’t my two favourite vampires,” Emil said, crushing Severin’s hand in his. “I was just thinking you had spurned my invite.”
“We wouldn’t do that,” Istvan said, always in favour of keeping the more powerful vampire sweet. Severin wondered how their roles went in the bedroom and could guess.
He lifted his gaze hesitantly and found Emil’s coal black eyes boring into him, head cocked as though he read Severin’s shameful thoughts. “You seem out of sorts, Severin. You’re even more ghastly pale than usual.”
“I’m thirsty,” Severin said. He chanced a glance over Emil’s shoulder and saw Nikolaus’s head jerk up, eyes fixed on Severin.
“Then why to God aren’t you drinking? Do you know how many Bavarian virgins had to die to provide you with that blood?” Emil grinned, fangs out. He’s on his guard, Severin thought, he knows something’s afoot.
He looked again at Nikolaus. The human looked like he’d seen a ghost, pasty and fragile as though he might faint. His dark eyebrows were knitted together in a frown, his violet eyes soft and afraid. He was ten years older but barely looked it.
Severin’s gaze slid down beneath his jaw and saw what he sought. A set of purplish puncture wounds on Nikolaus’s neck. Oh God, no. The thing Severin had fought and fought against. He would have died rather than bitten Nikolaus and in the end he had given him up rather than turn him. And Nikolaus had merely gone to someone else and let them have him.
Severin clenched his jaw. “I’ll do that,” he said. “Thank you for the invite.”
“You’re welcome and oh,” Emil leant close to Severin’s ear and whispered, “if you want to play later, I’ll be expecting you.”
Severin shivered first in helpless excitement where Emil was concerned and then his blood turned molten when Emil held his gaze. He meant his pet, too, Severin just knew it.
“You too, Istvan,” Emil said, almost as an afterthought as he yanked at the chain and pulled Nikolaus away.
Istvan’s face was tight and cold. “No thanks, I don’t share.”
Severin’s gaze followed Nikolaus’s slight figure across the room. He had lost weight and his shoulders were slumped. He didn’t look back. Severin looked apologetically at Istvan. They had never discussed what either of them did with Emil and Istvan had never shown any jealousy. Now he felt awkward. If Emil’s invitation was a clear invite to a ménage à trois with Nikolaus, then Severin was interested. But where did that leave his friendship with Istvan? And more to the point, how would he contain himself when he finally had Nikolaus at his mercy?
“I’m sorry,” he said sheepishly.
Istvan shrugged. “I don’t care. He does what he wants.”
But he did care, that was the sad thing. They wandered to the back of the room and ensconced themselves on a couch with goblets of blood. Severin drank deeply and felt the life force stimulate his every cell.
“He’s handsome,” Istvan said. “Your human.”
Severin wiped his hand over his mouth and burped. “He’s not my human. He never was. He’s Emil’s as you can see.”
“And he looked at you like you had unfinished business.”
Severin closed his eyes. The goblet shook in his hand. “I loved him,” he said in a barely audible voice.
But Granger Pharma faces a hostile takeover. Sensitive data and samples are missing from Anna and Jonah's lab; it may be corporate espionage. Her Wish, His Command Excerpt
Jonah sipped from his cup. "This coffee is better than usual. What did you do?"
"I washed out the pot and filter?" Anna laughed and threw her braid back over her shoulder. Wasn't playing with hair supposed to be a flirty thing to do? She glanced into Jonah's eyes and saw his pupils dilate ever so slightly.
Jonah placed his cup on the counter. "I usually just dump the old coffee."
Anna reached to top him off, making sure she grazed him again. She turned and put the coffee pot back in its place. Her hip bumped him.
"Anna?" he asked in a deep, questioning tone.
"Yes?" She paused. "Jonah?" She drew his name out on her tongue.
His eyes locked with hers. "What's this about?"
Anna broke eye contact as his scrutiny became too intense. "What's what about?"
"This." He gestured toward her. "Is this about yesterday?"
Anna wasn't sure where to go with her plan. "Yesterday?" She feared her manner gave the impression of stupid instead of coy.
"Yes, yesterday. We had a moment, for lack of a better term. Is this some game?"
Anna straightened. "Game? What is that supposed to mean?" Her voice lost its teasing edge.
"It means that either you are trying to needle me or maybe … maybe you want something?"
Anna frowned. "Those are the only two explanations?"
Jonah considered for an instant. "Anna, you're not interested in me, are you?"
Anna thumped her mug on the counter. "Of course not." Color rose in her face.
"Anna, about yesterday. I didn't mean to be unprofessional." His apologetic manner unnerved her.
"You were not unprofessional," Anna bit out. What a disaster. Was he going to say something kind? Anna didn't think she could bear the embarrassment.
Jonah took her hand lightly in his. Her hand trembled, and Anna was sure he felt it. "Are you afraid?" He looked into her eyes. "Or aroused?"
Anna swayed as his calloused thumb stroked her palm. The lab seemed to shrink, the walls gathering close around them.
He tugged on her hand, bringing to his lips. He nipped her fingertip.
Anna struggled to remain impassive as her blood surged. She sensed she hadn't fooled Jonah with her imperfect façade of calm.
A predatory masculine smile crossed his face. "I see." He sucked her fingertip into his mouth.
Excerpt:
Brigit loved the seaside. She always had, probably because visiting it was a rarity. Living in the centre of England meant that even the nearest seaside town was over an hour and a half away—and the nice resorts even further.
Which was why her boyfriend, Allen, proposed a long weekend in Brighton. He knew how fond she was of the seaside. Unsurprisingly, she agreed delightedly.
“It’s a long way,” she said. “But it doesn’t matter. We’d never go anywhere if we lamented the length of the journey.”
As it happened, the travelling wasn’t too bad. Miraculously the M1 was clear all the way down to the M25—and even that notorious motorway wasn’t experiencing its usual havoc. A straight shot south on the M23, then the A23 took them towards Brighton, and they navigated the one-way systems and lack of road signs and—eventually—found their hotel.
“Wow,” Brigit said, stretching luxuriously after getting out of the car, “that didn’t take as long as I thought. Shall we check in, dump our bags and go and explore?”
“Sounds like a plan to me,” Allen replied with a grin.
They slammed their respective car doors, grabbed the bags from the boot and headed into the hotel. Fifteen minutes later, after using the toilet and freshening up, they were back outside.
“Nice choice of hotel, babe. I like it.” Brigit said.
“I’m glad. I researched it well,” Allen replied.
“The bed looks nice and comfy.”
“Well, I’m sure we’ll be able to give it a decent road test later.” He winked at her, and got a slap on the arm for his trouble.
“You’ve got a one-track mind, you have.”
“Well, what do you expect when I’ve got a girlfriend that looks like you?”
She giggled. “Charmer.”
“That’s me. Okay, now I’m back in good books,” Allen said, “what do you want to do? Now, I mean. Not at bedtime.” He waggled his eyebrows.
Brigit stuck her tongue out at him before replying. “I dunno. Just look around I guess. Get our bearings. See what there is to do around here.”
They walked hand-in-hand towards the seafront, then along it in the direction of the pier. They passed the burnt out shell of the West Pier, and Brigit wondered aloud whether it would ever be rebuilt or demolished. Or would the blackened skeleton be left there forevermore, a reminder of what once was.
Soon, they drew close to Brighton Pier. Brigit turned to Allen with a grin.
“What?” he said, then followed her almost manic gaze down the length of the pier, towards a building with fake turret-type things and some very real flags. He sighed. He couldn’t be sure from here, but he thought it was bound to be the amusement arcade. “Oh, you want to go in there, do you? I wonder why?” His voice was laden with sarcasm in his last sentence.
“You know damn well why. Come on!” Brigit tugged him along the last few metres of the pavement and onto the wooden slats of the pier. “Ooh, we can have fish and chips when we come out, if you want.”
My Two Wives and Three Husbands #BookReview
My Two Wives and Three Husbands is a wonderful read—a true love story as well as a coming of age story. I wanted to read this book for two reasons. First, because I read and write GLBT romance, and secondly because there is a family connection. The author is my ex-husband's uncle. I'm sorry to say I didn't get to know Mr. Gordon. He lived across the country. My loss. Stanley Gordon is an interesting man, who lives life to the fullest.
This biography shows just how far society has come since the author grew up Jewish and gay in the late thirties. Discriminated against as a young boy, he learned to hide his true self. But his story is full of optimism and he tells of a life filled with rich experiences, family and good friends. Along the way he became a doctor of Optometry, started a chain of optical offices throughout the country, and pursued a dream of producing theatrical shows. But above all his story is about finding love and doing what makes you happy. I highly recommend it.
Amazon Blurb: The true story of one man's search for love, first in the straight world, then in the gay one. Told against a background of success in professional work and adventures in show business (Broadway and London). Family interaction becomes positive; love triumphs.
At the beginning of the twenty-first century of our era a millennia long war between two immortal races was coming to an end. Excerpt 1 (Simone at the Hunter’s auction)
As the auctioneer spoke, two Sekhmi in eveningwear—a male carrying an elegant dagger and a female a silver tray covered with glass vials—approached the Amiti girl.
“She’s barely eighteen, ladies and gentlemen. That’s a good three years younger than the youngest bloodstock you’ll usually come across. Look at her; she’s stunning, simply stunning, and as you can see, we’ve kept her well conditioned, in excellent health.”
The auctioneer paused as the male Hunter grasped the Amiti’s hand and held it above the tray. The girl showed no resistance, her only display of anxiety the butterfly fluttering of her thick eyelashes. He raised his other hand, and the dagger flashed in the light as with a swift motion he slit the Amiti’s palm. The dark, intoxicating scent of fresh blood filled the room as it poured into the vials.
Simone’s gums began to itch and burn, and she covered her mouth with her hand so no one would see her fangs punching down. It was considered terribly rude to expose one’s fangs in public, even among other vampires. But she needn’t have worried; everyone’s attention was riveted to the stage and the blood flowing from the girl’s wound. The room vibrated with bloodlust and sexual arousal.
The female Sekhmi approached Simone’s table, offering the Royal Pride the first of the blood samples. Knowing that all eyes were on her, Simone forced herself not to hesitate and took a small sip—and was immediately flooded with euphoria.
“For this magnificent specimen, we open the bidding at ten million U.S. dollars,” announced the auctioneer.
Meet Cathy Mansell #author of Shadow Across the Liffey
Today I'm interviewing author Cathy Mansell, as part of her book tour for Shadow Across the Liffey.
If you have a question (or comment) be sure to post it. Cathy will award a $10 Amazon gift card to one random commenter at the end of the tour and two $5 Amazon gift cards to random commenters during the course of the tour.
Follow the tour and comment; the more you comment, the better your chances of winning. The tour dates can be found here:
Hi Cathy! Can you tell the readers a little bit about yourself?
I’m Cathy Mansell, author of shadow Across the Liffey and Her Father’s Daughter. I was born in Dublin, Ireland and brought up there as a child.  When I was twenty I married and moved to Leicester, England where my husband had a job waiting in the hosiery business. Unfortunately, he died of leukaemia and I was a lone parent with two very young children.  Five years later I met and married my present husband, Dennis.  We have three grown up children and eight grandchildren plus a Beagle, and live in the countryside of south Leicestershire, England.
Do you ever experience writer’s block?
Yes, I do.  And what works for me is, I go back and read the previous 2 or 3 chapters and then I usually see why I got blocked in the first place.  Another way is to go for a walk in the countryside.  It refreshes my brain and gives me a different prospective when I come back to write.
If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your novel or getting it published that you would change?
I don’t think you can change that happens along the road to publication.  It is all part and parcel of getting published. The majority of authors have had to hone their craft to get their work up to scratch. It’s a long climb up that ladder to success. But so worth the journey when you get there.
How do you market your work? What avenues have you found to work best for your genre?
I am just discovering what works best for me in marketing my books.  I think reviews help enormously, also blogging, and networking, word of mouth and advertising.  I’m still experimenting. It takes time to build up a readership.
Will you have a new book coming out soon?
Yes, I’m thrilled to say that my second book, Her Father’s Daughter is out with Tirgearr Publishing on 6th June.
The story is set in a factitious newspaper office in Cork city, Ireland.  The heroine, Sarah leaves her home in Dublin to take a position in Cork after a series of arguments with her parents. They  are totally opposed to the move.  This, at a time when jobs are scarce. The whole situation baffles Sarah and she leaves under a cloud, financially insecure.  She takes a rented room unaware that the property owner is a pervert.
Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?
Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
I would love to hear from readers and fans.  If there are any of you out there reading my books, thank you. It would be nice to hear from you via email or through my website or tirgearrpublishing.com. As a new author I would be most appreciative.
SHADOW ACROSS THE LIFFEY By Cathy Mansell
BLURB:
A gripping story of how family secrets can wreak havoc on the present.
In 60’s Ireland life is hard for widow, Oona Quinn, grief-stricken by the tragic deaths of her husband and five-year-old daughter. Struggling to survive, she meets charismatic Jack Walsh at the Shipping Office.
Vinnie Kelly, her son's biological father, just out of jail, sets out to destroy Oona and all she holds dear. Haunted by her past, she has to fight for her future and the safety of her son, Sean. But Vinnie has revenge on his mind . ..
Excerpt:
The roar of the traffic made her head ache as she hurried along the pavement towards the bus stop. People hurried past and life went on, but Oona felt hers had truly ended.
Foolishly she had assumed that her love, together with constant reassurance from the family, would be enough to help heal Sean’s pain. She had been shocked to discover that deep down he was struggling with his own demons. Sean playing truant, and his disruptive behaviour, was tearing her apart. She couldn’t take much more. It was only a week since she had last been at the school to discuss him. Confusion scrambled her mind as she tried to work out what might have happened this time.
Pausing to catch her breath, she knocked on the headmaster’s door. Her stomach tightened.
Mr Mulvane glanced at her over his thick-rimmed spectacles. ‘I’m sorry to have taken you away from your work again,’ he said, ‘but I’m afraid…’ he cleared his throat, ‘shall we say that Sean is heading for expulsion if he continues to misbehave. The cane has little effect on him, and it grieved me to have to use it.’
Her heart sank. ‘What’s happened? What’s he done now?’
‘I know this is distressing for you, Mrs Quinn, but there’s been another altercation in the playground. This time it has resulted in a bloody nose for the O’Neill boy.’
‘Oh, dear God, no.’ She sighed. ‘What with the truancy and now this.’
‘That is why I called you.’ He paused.
