Uh-oh! Where did the day go?

I was shocked when I looked at my blog and realized I hadn’t posted since November 3rd. The last week has gone by in a blur, some good, but mostly bad, including a funeral and a good friend who is seriously ill. He’s been in the hospital for ten days and counting. Then the DH had a colonoscopy. We won’t even go into that.
I’m working on three books and usually writing is a great escape for me. When I read or write I totally forget the bad stuff for a while. This past week I couldn’t concentrate worth a darn. My mind was jumping from one thing to another and I was sure I was going to lose it along the way.

Finally I locked myself in my office and last night I finished a MS and with a great sigh of relief I sent it off to the publisher. This morning I was rewarded with a contract from Silver and I was doing the happy dance. I should have put my mug down first. Anyone know how to get coffee stains out?

I figure all the time I was fretting because there’s never enough hours in the day, I really should have been trying to make the most of the hours I had. The problem is not my lack of time. I’m not using the time I have in a productive way. If anyone has some advice, I’d love to hear it.
And here’s a preview of that book I just finished.

Lane and the Lycans
Symbiotic Mates: 6

Lane is spying for Ethan, his vampire master. Sneaking past the perimeter of the Lycan city won't be easy for a cat-shifter, and things go horribly wrong when a bear decides to have Lane for dinner. Two wolves intervene and the cat thinks he’ll end up as wolf kibble instead of bear meat. But one of the Lycans is a do-gooder wildlife enthusiast and he’s determined to keep the cat safe.

I know what you mean about time. I sometimes realise its bed time and think 'where did all the hours go?'. It's so easy to waste time - I often find myself getting engrossed in some crappy programme on the TV when I should be reading or writing! Sorry to hear about your friend. Hope all's well soon.

Thanks Liz. TV is another problem. I'm way too involved in the reality shows. From the Housewives to Survivor to DWTS. I try and use them as rewards. If I write a chapter I can watch Housewives of NJ. Some incentive, huh? lol

I'm so sorry about your loss and the rough week, Gale. Coffee stains? Just keep dancing! I had to clean coffee off my walls... after a slip down the stairs last Sunday that resulted in a trip to the hospital for x-rays. Didn't break my foot, though it is badly sprained. Handrails going in!

This book sounds like another win for you. Congrats on finishing. What's next?

Thanks Calisa. Hope your foot is better. Years back I broke my ankle carrying laundry down the basement. I missed the last two steps and I saw stars. I laughed, I cried, I was in shock, it hurt so bad. Feel better.
