Why I'm Afraid of Book Signings

This is hysterical. Someone on one of my loops sent the link to this and I thought it was too cute not to pass on. So here it is. It makes me even less anxious to ever want to do a book signing. The thought actually makes me ill.

Has anyone had a good experience?

This was a cute video. I can imagine as an author who is not a household name (like Mary Higgins Clark) that it can be hard to build interest in a book signing. I've heard it's good to team up with a couple more authors. That way, each other's readers may check out the other books and if it's slow, you're not there by yourself. Makes it more fun.

I would definitely want company if I did a signing - probably a whole group. lol

OMG Gale! I'm with you on the book signing thing. No way do I want the same experience as poor Mr. Parnell!
I've been to book festivals and stuff where authors are set up in tents with tables of their books for sale (Savannah Book Festival) and they look miserable!

I don't think the rewards make up for the misery.
